Here are my picks for the best places to get caffeinated in Los Angeles!
Bricks & Scones
This family-run neighborhood coffee shop in Larchmont Village provides free Wi-Fi and ample seating, both inside and outside on the patio. In addition to fine coffees and LupiciaFresh Teas, Bricks & Scones offers up fresh pastries that are baked on-site every day as well as sandwiches, salads, and more. The quiet atmosphere provides the perfect space for working or finishing a book from the shop’s own library exchange. My daughter and her friends asked to be dropped off here all the time to do homework.

Go Get Em Tiger
With numerous coffee shops packed into one half-square mile, the competition in Larchmont Village is stiff, but it is safe to say that the folks behind Go Get Em Tiger know how to hold their own here. It’s no wonder why either- those folks just happen to be the same duo behind the famous G&B coffee at Grand Central Market. Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski traded in the usual coffee-line experience for a relaxed bar-like atmosphere where guests can order from their seats… at the bar. (Standing at the bar reminds me of grabbong an espresso in Italy!)
230 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90004
Did someone say “Bottomless Coffee?” That’s right. At this Melrose coffee shop, you can guzzle down the caffeine until your heart explodes for less than $2.00. There are also a variety of bagels and sandwiches to satisfy your appetite, and if you are hoping to get some work done, there are lots of tables and outdoor seating, and WiFi is free! Full diclosure = friends with the owners!
6903 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90038
G&B @ Grand Central
If you read my previous post about Grand Central Market, you already know that it has recently become a nationally recognized foodie paradise. No foodie has a more discerning palate than coffee experts. So I’ll let the accolades speak for themselves: “Best New Coffeebar”, “Coffeebar of the Year”, “World’s Five Best Coffeebars”, “Best Coffeeshop in California” and “United States Barista Champion”. Go grab breakfast at Eggslut and pair it with G&B! (Eggslut usually has a HUGE line!)
317 S Broadway C19, Los Angeles, CA 90013
This spacious Silver Lake coffee shop was brought to you by Cards Against Humanity co-creator, Ben Hantoo, along with his wife, Michelle. Walking in, you feel as if you just stepped into Jurassic Park’s very own coffee shop. Looking past the sleek and airy design, you will find plenty of seating, outlets, and NO WIFI (you’ve been warned).
4334 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029
Moby’s Coffee & Tea Co.
Don’t miss this neighborhood coffee shop tucked away in a tiny strip mall in the Valley. It’s 100% organic and they take the notion of a community-oriented shop to the next level with drinks that are served in hand-crafted mugs by local artisans, local music, and walls that are lined with artwork by incredible local artists. 🙂 You are free pick a couch to settle into and take advantage of their WiFi (free) to get work done or choose a board game to occupy your time.

LATE ENTRY because I JUST DISCOVERED IT …
Say hello to another Melrose Ave. coffee shop! This European-style Cafe offers up specialty subs, salads, and pastries to go along side their espresso-based drinks. They will also personalize your foam with a message or even go so far as to upload your own design right from your phone! They have a cool Instagram Account.
