The Craftsman style places an emphasis on functional aesthetics and natural materials. This style follows the belief that harmonizing with the natural surroundings of the home stimulates artistic and intellectual growth.
These 3 great Craftsman Bungalows are currently for sale in LA:
I saw 9 homes yesterday and these 3 stood out! Here is what you can get in Hollywood, Larchmont and Jefferson Park.
You should know Gower can be a very busy street but this is nicely set back with a fence. It is about 5 min car ride north of Larchmont Village. This home had a slightly strange layout and needs a little work. I would have listed it under $1M.
From the MLS: Hidden behind a wood gate and lush hedges sits this beautiful 1920 Bungalow with 2 BD + Office, 2 BA in the best part of Hollywood! Zoned LAR3 with great development potential, the current home is move-in condition and features a large front porch, beautiful hardwood floors throughout, an expansive living room with fireplace, entertainer’s open floor plan and large restored original windows for abundant natural light. The eat-in kitchen has updated quartz counter tops, Douglas Fir original hardwood floors and a charming built-in breakfast area. Incredible master en-suite with attached office and freshly tiled bath. The huge, private grassy backyard features a converted garage and room for a pool. Steps to Columbia Square, Sugar Fish & The Arclight. Enjoy the existing home, add on or build! How life in Hollywood was meant to be!
This block is fantastic! It is at the edge of Larchmont and Windsor Square south of Beverly but feels quiet and uniform. The lighting yesterday after the rain made this house stand out. The landsaping in the front and back is fab and my favorite feature may be the skylight in the kitchen. This one will go fast over asking. 2 bedrooms on title.
From the MLS: Charming three bedroom home conveniently located in the heart of Larchmont Village – just minutes to Koreatown restaurants, hiking trails in the Hollywood Hills, and Downtown L.A.’s arts scene. This beautiful home has tons of character including original hardwood floors, gorgeous pocket doors, and a welcoming front porch to relax on. The kitchen touts amazing high ceilings and a skylight that allows natural light to flood in. A bright sun room off the kitchen offers tranquil views of the back yard garden. Central AC/Heat and tankless water heater. An absolute treasure in the heart of Los Angeles!
Probably my favorite of all 3. Amazing curb appeal, nice block. Designer inside – really fantastic details and lighting. This house is so cozy with a perfect porch and guest house. It is just south of the 10 freeway about 12 minutes from Hancock Park. This one will go for over asking this week, I am sure! Again, beautiful landscaping.
