First Fridays on Abbot Kinney
Come take part in this festive celebration of urban beach lifestyle at First Fridays on Abbot Kinney! This popular monthly event takes place in the heart of Venice, and features numerous food trucks, open galleries and extended shop hours. You will also find special deals and great happy hours at the many shops and restaurants along Abbot Kinney Blvd. Remember to show up early in order to find parking! (There are a few parking valets on Abbot Kinney, though you can get stuck in traffic on Abbot Kinney (best to avoid it). Valet Parking on Electric at Milwood (behind Abbot Kinney to the east at the Electric Lodge). There are 2 hour metered lots directly behind Abbot Kinney – Electric is the street behind it.
When: Friday June 2 5:00-11:00pm some venues open later

Pancakes & Booze Art Show
Since 2009 the Pancakes & Booze Art Show has been filling the best venues in over 30 cities around the world. This traveling exhibition features between 50-150 local artisans, a unique lineup of live musicians and/or DJs, live painting, body painting, and other forms of entertainment. The event is for ages 21 and up, costs $10, and goes down at Lot 613 in downtown Los Angeles. Oh, did I mention there are FREE PANCAKES?!
When: June 2 – 3, 2017 8pm-2am
Where: Lot 613 (613 Imperial St. in DTLA)
LA Pride Festival
The annual L.A. Pride Festival and Parade is one of the largest LGBTQ celebrations in the US.- attracting as many as a half of a million people during the two-day festival to West Hollywood. The atmosphere is good-natured and raucous; local color is provided by divas, drag queens and DJs. The event features multiple stages of live electronic, pop, hip hop, Latin, and R&B music as well as the world-famous Pride Parade* along Santa Monica Boulevard on Sunday. *For 2017, in place of the parade, LA Pride will partner with the #ResitsMarch for human rights.
When: June 5 – 11, 2017 (Festival takes place June 10 and 11, 2017)

Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk
In case you missed my previous post about the DTLA Art Walk, the Art Walk is back again featuring over 40 different art galleries and museums spread throughout downtown Los Angeles‘ various historic districts. This is more than just a simple walking tour- there’s food, music, and various festivities and programs to entertain the approximately 10,000 Art Walk patrons. Come immerse yourself in a world of free expression and experience true LA culture at its finest while supporting local artists.
When: June 8th from noon-10pm, but the party really kicks off around 6pm with the opening of the Art Walk Lounge located at 634 S. Spring St. at the MALDEF building.
Where: Mainly in the Historic Core between 4th and 9th and Spring and Main Streets. However, the galleries and restaurants spread beyond to the Fashion District, South Park and the Financial District.
Wine & Dine at the Zoo
This month, the Sustainable Wine Dinner Series features wine from Paso Robles, a gourmet dinner, a talk by a zoo professional, and an up-close animal encounter at the Los Angeles Zoo for age 21+.
When: June 8, 2017 (6 to 9 p.m.)
Where: Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park
L.A. Food Fest
LA’s favorite tasting event is back this June at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with world class top chefs and restaurants, favorite trucks, street stands and carts and more. The LA Food Fest features 100 food vendors, a wine garden, craft beer gardens, cocktail bars, an iced coffee lounge, endless entertainment, and even an ice cream social. Growing from a street food-focused event the LA Food Fest has ballooned into and all-inclusive culinary spectacle. You can now indulge in delicious eats for just one flat fee at the door (no more extra expenses for food and drinks), so don’t forget to wear your stretchy pants!
