Echo Park Rising
For the 6th time, the Echo Park neighborhood is hosting a free festival showcasing music, creativity, diversity, and small businesses of Echo Park. This three-day festival features over 100 local bands, comedians, film screenings and much more. Multiple stages and venues (located on the main routes of Sunset Blvd, Glendale Blvd, Alvarado Avenue, Echo Park Avenue and beyond) are presenting bands, performers, and activities for all ages. Chocolate and Art Show
The Chocolate and Art show is an underground art show in Downtown Los Angeles designed to showcase the talents of local artists, vendors, and musicians complimented by artisan chocolatiers and to bring Angeleno’s a unique, fun-filled Friday or Saturday night.It features artists, live body painting, live music, face-painting, and FREE CHOCOLATE! 2017 California Hot Sauce Expo
General Admission includes fiery samples from the exclusive hot sauce vendors, access to all staged eating competitions, and many other entertaining events fun for all of your friends and family. LA Food & Wine Festival
The Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival is a four-day epicurean event showcasing the finest in food and drink culture throughout Los Angeles, and culinary personalities from throughout the nation. Bringing them all together to Grand Avenue, for an event that spans the entire city. National Park Service Birthday
There are more than 400 national parks available to everyone, every day. The fee-free days provide a great opportunity to visit a new place or an old favorite, especially one of the national parks that normally charge an entrance fee including Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon. The fee waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Get out and enjoy nature! (but expect more people and less parking than usual). Fiesta La Ballona
Last year, Culver City’s “Party In The Park” attracted more than 30,000 visitors. The popular festival features carnival rides and games, live performances, over 100 booths spotlighting local organizations as well as featuring artisan wares and other vendors, a petting zoo and pony rides, a beer and wine garden, food trucks and a food court, and other special events. Fiesta La Ballona is bicycle-friendly and strives to be a zero waste event. Admission is FREE! More info at http://www.fiestalaballona.org

The 25th annual “Taste of Larchmont” festival returns to Larchmont Village on Monday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. Originated in 1993 by the Larchmont Chronicle to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the family-friendly event has grown to include live music, a prize raffle, and of course, plenty of food from 13 different Larchmont establishments on the boulevard. The Taste of Larchmont festival is the primary fund-raiser for Hope-Net to address hunger and homeless needs, and 90 percent of the funds received are used to purchase and distribute food to those in need in our local area. I will be there!
