Here are some of my favorite events happening around Los Angeles for September 16th-30th!
Anaheim Fest of Ales
I know it’s not technically in LA, but c’mon, it’s a beer festival! The annual festival includes a home brew competition, unlimited craft beer tastes, unlimited gourmet food tastings, live music, and one lucky brewery will be awarded the Mayor’s Trophy. Partial proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the non-profit organizations, The Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, and Downtown Anaheim Association. This Food Festival is takes place every Sunday on the five-acre site of the weekday Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles, which is part of a larger, new development called ROW DTLA. Come experience dozens of exciting food vendors plus sophisticated shopping from the realms of design, craft, style, vintage, wellness, and more. Cultural events, pop-ups, and other surprises transform the vast site into a new node in Downtown LA’s burgeoning scene, and a unique destination for the region. Sorry, no pets allowed. Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Art Park & Hollyhock House
In its 9th season, Los Feliz’s Barnsdall Art Park welcomes Angelenos to sip wine, picnic and watch the sunset (with stunning views overlooking the city) for Friday Night Wine tastings at Frank Lloyd Wright’s UNESCO-nominated Hollyhock House. The event, which attracts sellout crowds, features music, fine selections of boutique artisanal wines from Silverlake Wine, and a number of rotating food trucks, as well as pop-ups by Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream and The Cheese Store of Silverlake. Tickets cost $35 for a tasting and $50 for a tasting + tour. While families of all ages are invited to enjoy the Park, picnic, and dance, due to legal regulations, only ages 21+ will be allowed inside the fence for the Hollyhock House Tour or the wine tasting. exhibitions. Abbot Kinney Festival
The 33rd annual Abbot Kinney Festival returns to the boutiques, eateries, and art galleries lining this mile-long stretch of the world-famous Abbot Kinney Boulevard on the last Sunday in September for a day of fun, food and entertainment while you soak in the convivial spirit of the sunny beach-side community of Venice! Enjoy offerings from over 300 vendors, four stages of music, food trucks, 3 beer gardens, kids’ rides, and plenty great vibes!
When: September 24, 2017 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Yamashiro Farmers Market
The Yamashiro “Mountain Market” is back for 2017! This farmer’s market takes place every Wednesday through the summer at the historic Yamashiro “Mountain Palace” restaurant sitting atop the Hollywood Hills. Come for food, drinks, music, and fun! The outdoor Pagoda Bar is open during the night market as well for light sushi fare and Happy Hour until 8pm. No street parking is available, but a shuttle service will be available at the Mosaic Church located on the corner of Hollywood and La Brea (7107 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046) for $5.00/person.
When: Every Wednesday from 5PM-10PM
