Bookworms rejoice!   The LA Times Festival of Books is back this weekend! The annual event brings together book-lovers, authors, artists, and creative minds for a two-day celebration of culture and literature. Each year, the festival attracts approximately 150,000 people of all ages to participate in book signings, author Q&As, discussion panels, and more. Also featured are film screenings, live music, art exhibits, and food and crafts from local vendors. Visitors can expect to see celebrities and guest speakers from around the world. And the best part is- ADMISSION IS FREE! And less than 20 minutes from Larchmont Village.


Some of the events at this year’s Festival of Books include the LA Times Ideas Exchange Series with guests Carrie Brownstein and Arianna Huffington (editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post), 


Over 500 authors and performers will be present to entertain and sign copies of their latest works including Stan Lee (creator of Marvel Comics, author of Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir), Rainn Wilson (The Office, author of The Bassoon King: My Life in Art, Faith, and Idiocy), Buzz Aldrin (Astronaut, author of No Dream Is Too High: Life Lessons From a Man Who Walked on the Moon),Holly Robinson Peete, (author of Same But Different), Elizabeth Briggs (author of Future Shock), Sherri L. Smith (author of The Toymaker’s Apprentice), and a special appearance by my husband, John Lanza (author of The Money Mammals book series)! John will be signing at the at the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) LA booth 831 from 1-1:50pm. His 3rd book was released this week!


The Festival of Books runs Saturday, April 9th from 10a.m. to 6p.m. and Sunday, April 10th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the University of Southern California campus. The Book Prizes ceremony takes place Saturday at 6:30p.m. in the Bovard Auditorium. General admission is free, but some events are ticketed.
