Los Feliz Homes for Sale

It is north of East Hollywood and just south of the Burbank, next to the neighborhoods of Glendale/, Atwater and Silver Lake. It is home to the southern face of Griffith Park, which includes the Griffith Observatory and the Greek Theatre.  It is traversed by the usually very busy but beautiful Los Feliz Boulevard.

Los Feliz was home to many early movie studios, including the first Disney Studio. it currently is home to The Prospect Studios (formally known as ABC Television Center), at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Talmadge Street.  (At the time I believe General Hospital and Grey’s Anatomy film here)  The neighborhood has historically been home to movie stars, musicians, and the Hollywood elite and still is!  It boasts some of the best known residential architecture in the city, including two homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Ennis House and the Hollyhock House, and Richard Neutra‘s Lovell House.

Los Feliz is broken down to include the Los Feliz Hills and Los Feliz Estates (north of Los Feliz Boulevard), Laughlin Park, Los Feliz Village, Los Feliz Square, Los Feliz Knolls, and Franklin Hills.

My husband lived here while we were dating. I always think of Los Feliz as upscale. It is easy to get to the 101 and the 5 but there is usually a ton of traffic mostly on the weekend although I am told the locals have secret short cuts! It is wonderful to be nestled in to Griffith Park; there is so much to do – hike, run, play, picnic, music, horses etc! It is like our “Central Park” and we are lucky it is protected.

 Visit VERMONT and HILLHURST stores, bars and restaurants. Very cute little small town feel!
