West Hollywood, or “WeHo” as it is locally known, is a lively, independent city contained entirely within the greater city of Los Angeles. The City of West Hollywood spans 1.89 square miles between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and is home to around 35,000 residents with a media household income of approximately $58,840. If any locale holds the distinction of being “Hollywood’s playground,” it is West Hollywood. Home to the famous nightclubs and music venues of the Sunset Strip, the shops and boutiques on Melrose Avenue, and the restaurants and bars on Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood plays host to tourists, locals, and celebrities alike.
Known for its diverse population and vibrant nightlife, there is always something going on here. The city plays host to numerous street festivals including the largest Halloween street carnival in the United States. West Hollywood is also home to much of LA’s gay community, and the annual L.A. Pride Festival and Parade is one of the largest LGBTQ celebrations in the US.
